Our paperwork for Kidus was submitted to the US Embassy this past Wednesday. Now we wait to hear if they approve it or send it on to US immigration.
Right before we were submitted to the embassy, we were emailed a copy of the documents to be submitted. We had a little panicked moment when we realized that Kidus' Ethiopian passport and a couple of other documents had a different birth date on them than what was listed on the original birth certificate we had received. That seemed like a huge discrepancy that the embassy would latch onto. However, our agency looked into it and it was simply a translation error. Whoever translated his original birth certificate from Amharic into English put May 25 instead of May 22 on the document. That document does not get submitted to the embassy. Only his new birth certificate with us listed as his parents and his correct birth date of May 22nd.
It was kind of funny to go back and tell the kids that Kidus' birthday was different than what we originally thought. Even more ironic is that probably neither of those dates is his real birth date. But for now we go with May 22nd. Unless it changes again...... :)
Here are a couple of new pics we recently were sent. Gotta love the pink! Can't wait to snuggle this little guy again!

Can't wait to meet your little sweetheart, Kidus, in person. Grandma K.
